The conservatory of the Algarve in Faro is named after the famous pianist Maria Campina
The conservatoire in Faro has been founded in 1973 by the Portuguese pianist Maria Campina (Loulé, 1914 - Faro, 1984) and her husband Pedro Ruivo. The Aula Pedro Rui is the venue of various music and dance events. The cultural foundation Pedro Ruivo and a museum for Maria Campina are situated in the same building.
